Abstract

The article presents the results of a critical examination of a number of provisions of V. Frankl's logotherapy. Possible options for a person's life path are considered and a conclusion is made about the most correct way of life for most people, which consists of "living by the rules" in the terminology of V.N. Druzhinin and the fulfillment of the human mission in this world. It was found that these two components do not contradict each other. The role of life stress is considered, where the author fully agrees with V. Frankl. The positions of V. Frankl about the absence of a common global meaning of life and the need to move to assessing the particular meanings of numerous life situations are challenged. It is shown that the basis of a meaningful human life is still global goals and global meanings as the implementation of the path of approaching the goal. A tetrad for the realization of the meaning of life is proposed and the need for simultaneous activity in all four aspects of this tetrad is indicated. Possible meanings in old age after the cessation of external activity are considered in detail. The necessity of preparation for old age in the periods of life far from it is shown.
