SEMANTIC CALCULUS AND ITS ROLE IN THE MODERN RUSSIAN LANGUAGE

The problematic of the work is connected with the study of the process of semantic tracing in the modern Russian language in the conditions of active globalization. Calculation of words is a natural and necessary process of language development. Semantic tracing is one of the important mechanisms of foreign language contact influence on the Russian language at the turn of the XX – XXI centuries. As a subject of research, the article considers examples of semantic cripples of the modern Russian language, divided by two parameters: the sphere of use and the donor language. The purpose of the article is to show the functional significance of semantic tracing for the modern Russian language. As a result, it was established that interethnic contacts contribute to the actualization of the process of semantic tracing, which directly affects the vocabulary of the modern Russian language and, thereby, leads to its modernization.
