This paper deals with the role of the prepositions ‘na’ and ‘v’ in Russian linguistics. After having sorted out the definition of prepositions, we explained the particularity of ‘na’ and ‘v’ though there is a wide range of prepositions in Russian language. However the prepositions ‘na’ and ‘v’ are the mostly commonly used for they refer either to geographical description or they help determine the correct location or positions of people, things or places.
